Greg Thompson was CTO at Convergence CT - a global healthcare data company, before transitioning to help Livermore's Quest Science Center as Director of Information Systems.  In addition to BRIIA, he's been a consultant and mentor at Livermore's i-GATE Innovation Hub, providing assistance to startups since 2013 in the areas of AWS cloud services, SQL & NoSQL databases, React clients, Raspberry Pi, IoT, video/multimedia and network technologies, as well as many areas of secure, scalable, and highly-available application design and software development, having obtained four AWS certifications including Certified Solution Architect and DevOps Engineer Professional.

Previously Greg was CTO for Multimedia at Huawei, a Chief Video Architect and Sr. Director at Cisco Systems, CTO for Larry Ellison's nCUBE super computer company (which won an Emmy award in 2003 for development of Video-on-Demand), and a Co-founder and CTO of Interlink Computer Sciences Inc. (NASDAQ: INLK) that went public in 1996.

A SMPTE member, he holds a B.S. in Computer Sciences and Engineering from MIT, an SCPM certificate from Stanford, and is a member of MIT's Education Council. He has been an expert witness on patent cases and was lead developer of the first-person shooter game Maze War.
