Alvin's led IT transformation enterprise-wide in healthcare and other fields. His current area of focus in Silicon Valley is to work as a motivating resource to optimize and guide small business founders on their journey to improve their chance at profitability. He serves as Guest Speaker Organizer for Health 2.0 San Francisco and acted as mentor to entrepreneurs in their digital health, pre-accelerator curriculum, Project Zygote.
He’s contributed to early stage companies around:
- Analyzing product differentiation.
- Focusing on matching product fit to customer demand.
- Working out a core solution offering/value proposition.
- Articulating a compelling story and presentation for funding pitching.
- Surveying market interest and engaging customer prospects.
Previously, Alvin managed the hospital-wide computer upgrade at Beth Israel Medical Center in NY. He directed business change with stake holders and saw an 18m transition through to completion.
He’s worked in Account Management, Project Management, and Application Consulting. He's managed hardware and software install teams, successfully implementing upgrades through dozens of medical departments according to mission critical timelines. He oversaw and fielded all computer related trouble calls throughout a 7,000-member hospital and personally managed file conversations, system incompatibilities, legacy migrations and application customizations.
As a former president of Toastmasters, Alvin regularly attends Demo Day Pitch Funding Presentations to keep up to date with new technology talks and entrepreneurial happenings in the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to writing the scientific thriller, GRIDLOCK, Alvin is currently writing about entrepreneurship.
